A good book on Body Modification and Adornment with some lovely pictures. I've used extracts from it for the past 8 years.

I'm starting a collection of photos of tattoos and piercings which my students have kindly contributed for me to use on this site. The quality of some of the photos is not too good at the moment, but it gives some ideas how and why tattoos are being used by young people at the moment. Read this article about why normal people have tattoos.

The photos you see below are of tattoos on the body of one of my female students, aged 18. She has them on her leg,arm and lower back. The photo on the left was done in memory of the student's grandmother who died. Recently, the youngest ever British diver to be selected for the Olympics stated his intention to have the Olympic Rings tattooed on his arm to mark that occasion.
