Good websites

Some good general websites I have found useful in the past:

A site for A Level Film and Media students (no longer updated) but with a great page on music, cultural influences, Web 2.0 etc

http://www.adamranson.plus.com/emedia.html

This is a Communication, Media and Cultural Studies site aimed largely at A Level students by an ex-lecturer in Communication Studies, Mick Underwood.

Daniel Chandler's (lecturer in Communication Studies at Aberyswyth University) site - a bit higher level as it is aimed at university students but some useful stuff on it - semiotics, news etc.

http://www.aber.ac.uk/media/

Geoff Barton (headteacher of school in Southern England) has a site with a mixture of English and Communication Resources - they are specifically aimed at A Level students and accessible. The Communication resources are at the bottom of the page.

A university website by lecturer David Gauntlett at the University of Westminster - some excellent resources, particularly on Identity.

http://www.theory.org.uk/

A lively, visually attractive blog, written by a current teacher of Communication and Culture - some good ideas for both students and teachers

http://www.cjmedicom.blogspot.com/

A very good GCSE Media Studies site which you may find useful for narrative, fiction etc
